- Austra's name is derived from the Aurora Australis, the southern counterpart to the Aurora Borealis.
- Originally, Austra was supposed to have a twin named Borea to reflect this relationship, however, SolanaCorona withdrew from using the idea, believing that she would look like she was "obsessed" with twins given how the main protagonists for both of her fan series have a twin.
