Janus is a student at the Cloud Tower School for Witches and is the son of Icy. Unlike his mother and aunts, Janus does not wish to rule the Magic Dimension, and fled to Cloud Tower with his cousins in order to become a witch strong enough to live his own life.

Inheriting his powers from his mother, Janus possesses the magical ability to control the ice and the cold. He can create icy constructs like daggers, walls, spikes and cages, and can make it so these constructs can freeze anyone or anything who touches them. He can also create snowstorms and large-scale blizzards (especially with Cloud's help) and can make the frost in the area borderline unbearable. Speaking of which, Janus can use any surrounding ice, snow or frost either offensively or defensively depending on the situation calls for. Much like his mother, Janus' magic can become stronger in colder conditions and will weaken if surrounded by warmth and fire.
What separates Janus from Icy is that Janus does not keep his emotions concealed when it comes to using his magic. Rather than keeping an ice-cold heart, Janus prefers to keep his heart open in order to "properly embrace the cold," which allows him to better focus his spells, be them offensive or defensive. Even though this works for him, it has not been proven that it makes his magic stronger or weaker than Icy's.
Another unique thing about Janus' ice is that he seems to be able to control the reflections that appear on icy surfaces.

- Janus gets his name from a Roman God who presided over both the beginning and end of conflicts and is usually represented as having two faces; one that looks towards the past and another that looks towards the future.
- Janus is a transgender man, meaning that even though his body or sex can be considered as female, Janus identifies with being male.
- This explains how Janus can attend Cloud Tower, an all-girls' school while considering himself male.
