This article catalogs all major species within the Magic Dimension of the Winx Club HFY fanfic. The Magic Dimension (also called the Magic Universe, the Magic Kingdom, or even Magix) is a dimension located very far from Earth and the Nine Realms Dimension. Many different magical realms and planets exist within it, which are inhabited by many species. These species have far less variation between them than the Nine Realms species, all being carbon-based lifeforms.
Although Earth is a member of the Magic Dimension Alliance, it is not physically within the Magic Dimension, so humans will not be listed.
Species[]
Androsians[]
Sometimes referred to as land Androsians, Androsians are one of two sapient species native to Andros and are well suited to a semi-aquatic lifestyle. They are opportunistic omnivores that will eat eggs and fish if they manage to scavenge them. Their bodies sweat to keep their delicate skin moist, which can lead them to easily becoming dehydrated. They are capable of running, climbing, and swimming but lack the ability to breathe underwater. They have fully webbed toes and semi-webbed hands. Their ears also have a webbed look to them that keeps water from getting into the ear canal. They have third eyelids to keep water and debris out of their forward-facing eyes and that have light-refracting properties similar to glasses to allow them to see underwater. Without the water protecting them from the harsh sun of their planet, their skin tones are primarily dark browns. They are an ovoviviparous species. They experience puberty around 16 years old (12 to 13 Earth years), which is also considered adulthood for them. Their average height is 6 feet for women and 7 feet for men.
Most planets within the Magic Dimension only have one or two languages, with minor regional differences, or a dialect continuum due to most species not fully colonizing their planets until well into their industrial revolution, but due to Andros' many islands, its land people were separated early on and developed many languages, the current count being 53. With Aguatunge and QecKhiat, this gives the planet 55 languages.
Aquarians[]
Aquarians are a herbivorous aquatic species native to Aquaria. They have seafoam green skin that can range from grayish to a deep, rich color. They have blue hair-like sensory tentacles extending from their heads. Their grasping appendages are fins with apposable thumbs. Their eyes are adapted to all levels of their planet's oceans. They can see just as well in the deepest trenches as they can in the shallows. Above each of their eyes are three aquamarine bioluminescent dots. They can adjust the brightness of these dots to assist them see in low light and as part of their communication. Their skeleton is entirely made up of cartilage with the exception of their teeth.
Aquarians have gills and water jets along their torso to breathe and aid them as they swim. They take in water through the gills located on what would be the collarbone on a human and expel the deoxygenated water out the siphons on their sides, like an Earth octopus. Though their gills are their primary breathing apparatus, Aquarians have small lungs they can use to breath in air for short lengths of time. Their ancestors used this to climb onto land to escape their predators.
With training and a special diet to harden their skeleton, Aquarians can walk on land. This is considered an extreme sport in their culture.
Callistoins[]
Callistoins are native to the planet of Callisto. They are furry, mammalian-like creatures with small horns on the sides of their heads and clawed hands and feet. The females are typically purple in color, and the males are typically red or orange. The fur on top of their heads and along their backs is a lighter color than the rest of their fur, similar to honey badgers, and grows longer than the rest of their fur. Due to cultural osmosis, they've begun to stylize their head fur like hair. They're a facultative carnivore species, similar to dogs. Due to the raging storms their planet is regularly subjected to, their society is mainly underground. Their ancestors used their claws to dig into the mountains to create the tunnels they still live in. They also have excellent night vision and vision in general, along with a good sense of smell and hearing, and they are one of the most durable races in the Magic Dimension. They evolved to be ambush hunters, hiding in foliage and jumping out to rip apart their prey. They are live-birthers and give milk. Their average height is 5.7 feet.
Callistoins are the only race in the Magic Dimension to have developed guns. Most other species lack the natural ability to aim that they do and are not durable enough to even use a gun without breaking something. Because of the latter issue, explosion propelled solid projectile weaponry is banned everywhere across the Magic Dimension except Callisto (with some exceptions for specially trained personnel). This forced them to create phanto technology, which lacks the recoil that got their guns banned, allowing them to take their weapons off-world. But in exchange for less recoil, phanto blasters lack the same penetrative power solid projectiles possess, but that's not an issue for 90% of the threats beyond Callisto.
Chibinoids[]
Chibinoids are natives of the planet Magix, being one of five sapient species that inhabit the planet, and are split into two subspecies, the pixies and the selkies. Both subspecies are incredibly small, being the second smallest sapient species. They are light magic-based creatures and live with others of their kind in hidden villages. They are born of plants called a Flower of Life and create settlements around such a sprout to ensure the survival of the plants and their young. Due to being purely made of Positive Magic, chibinoids can't be seen by non-magical creatures, keeping them safe from most predators. They also don't need to eat food but enjoy doing so. They gain all the nutrients they require through ambient magical energy.
Pixie[]
Pixies, native to the continents of Magix, are spritely, friendly creatures with small wings. They are fairly humanoid in appearance but with the proportions of a Funko Pop. The species is genderless but presents more feminine due to their close relationship with fairies. Their Flowers of Life put out a lot of light and magical energy, naturally attracting fairies. They possess the ability to bond with another magical creature, mainly fairies. These bonds are special and exclusive. It's said that each pixie shares a mystical bond with a specific fairy since birth. Though as proven by individuals such as Concorda, who is bonded to a magical room, this is not entirely true. All it takes is for the two of them to meet to form the bond.
Pixies have a relationship with pixie pets, tiny, magical, winged animals. Their relationship is similar to humans' relationship to our domestic animals.
Selkie[]
Selkies, native to the oceans of Magix, are creatures resembling miniature wingless mermaids with brightly colored skin and large heads and eyes in comparison to their bodies. The species is genderless. Like the pixies, they can form mystical bonds with other magical beings. Though this is much rarer for them due to their home in the deep sea.
When the mermaids were creating the Ocean Gate to Magix, they encountered the selkie. Several of the selkies bonded with the mermaids, and one bonded with the gate. This marked the beginning of the Great Selkie Migration through the gates, and now, they can be found on every planet with an Ocean Gate with villages around the gates and a gatekeeper selkie bonded to each of the gates. They can even be found in the Infinite Ocean guarding the Pillars.
Dolonans[]

Dolonans are native to the planet of Dolona. They are tall, lanky creatures with long and hyperflexible limbs and a long, prehensile, chameleon-like tail. Their average height is 7 feet for males and 6 feet for females. They have the ability to lock their limbs in place on command and hold their breath for thirty minutes, making them as still as statues. They are from a low-gravity world, so they lack well-defined muscles. Their physique and the way they move tend to make them seem creepy to some species. Their hair naturally ranges from blues and greens to reds, and their skin is normally pale, a pale green, or tanned, but they can change their colors to blend into their environment or express their emotions. Their ancestors used their physique and color-changing abilities to blend into the skinny trees of their homeworld and hide from their predators. They are a herbivorous prey species with side-facing eyes.
Despite what their physique might suggest, they're a graceful species, and their hyperflexibility also makes them great dancers. They typically walk upright but can move on all fours and are quite fast when doing so. They are one of the shorter lived species, typically only living to around 90 Earth years.
Dominoins[]
Dominoins are native to the planet of Domino. They are draconic-humanoid species with two horns coming from the forehead and scales. They use their horns for temperature regulation and, in ancient times, to fight for mates. The scales around their eyes are especially thick to help protect their eyes during these mating fights. These traits only become prominent after puberty, which typically occurs around 13 to 15 (16.25 to 18.75 Earth years). Before then, they highly resemble human offspring. Sandstorms are common on Domino, especially in the deserts in which the species originates, so they have third eyelids to protect their eyes. They have hair atop their heads that typically has a color ombre. They are a predatory omnivorous species that mostly hunts medium-sized animals. Despite their reptilian appearance, they are warm-blooded, like all Magic Dimension sapients. They are an egg-laying species. They are a medium to tall race, typically ranging in height from 5.5 feet to 6.5 feet. Adulthood for them is considered to be 13 Dominoin years old. They are among the longest lived races, regularly living to 200 (250 Earth years).
Dominoins are a rather aggressive race, especially during heat or if they are defending something. They are highly territorial and will fight ferociously when defending what they've claimed or their weyr (social and familial pack). Due to their natural hardiness and scales, they produce magic users with some of the strongest auras. The species has a stereotype of being leaders due to their dominant, aggressive, and fiery nature.
Downlanders[]
Downlanders, also called trogs, are the natives of the underground caverns of Magix, being one of five sapient species that inhabit the planet. Their pale skin and large eyes are highly light sensitive, leading to them rarely leaving their tunnels and caverns. They are a herbivorous race and mostly eat roots and moss. They are normally a short, averaging 5.5 feet, and skinny race, but some of them can grow to massive sizes. These individuals are referred to as bruisers, and they are born with a randomly occurring gene mutation that causes them to grow up to seven times the size of a standard Downlander. They are highly valued in their society as warriors. Some Downlanders are born with four arms. They are even rarer than the bruisers but aren't valued as highly. Adulthood for the species is considered to be 10 Magix years (~10 Earth years).
Downlanders are one of the few races known to the Magic Dimension that have no natural magic users. This has led to them historically being ostracized by the other races and oppressed by the elves. Though their treatment has been improved, their history has left them not particularly fond of Uplanders.
Dyamondites[]
Dyamondites are native to the frigid moon Dyamond, resulting in them evolving dense fur to keep warm. Despite their resemblance to certain Earth dog breeds, they are primarily a herbivorous race. They can be opportunistic at times, but eating too much meat will make them sick. They have black markings under their eyes to reduce glare from the sun bouncing off the snow. They have a superb sense of smell to find their food, but their low-light vision is poor, worse than humans'. Despite the size of their ears, they are also considered to have rather poor hearing, especially in warmer climates. They make up for their poor hearing with a tail-like sensory appendage that grows from the back of their head. This appendage gives them electroreception, which their atmosphere is abnormally well suited to. Their heal-tails are also extremely sensitive, able to cause paralyzing pain if merely grabbed too hard, so they protect them by concealing them in specialized head fur. They are also not well suited for atmospheres outside of their own, turning them from an advantage to a massive weakness. As such, they make it a point to keep the existence of their head-tails a secret from outsiders. They are a matriarchal species, with the females typically being larger than the males.
Elves[]
Elves are natives of the western continent of Magix, being one of five sapient species that inhabit the planet. The species originated in the Veil Mist Forest, where they were the original guardians of the Red Tower, but a calamity occurred thousands of years ago that filled the forest with dangerous, unkillable carnivorous tree monsters, forcing them to evacuate and relocate. They are almost indistinguishable from humans, save for their pointed ears. They are a tall, skinny race, but their bodies aren't as lanky as the Dolonans. The race has very little sexual dimorphism and is fairly androgynous looking in general. Even members of their own race will mistake a man for a woman and a woman for a man. They are an omnivorous race and can easily live for 1000 years.
They are one of very few races to have almost all their members able to use magic. Not having the ability to use magic is considered to be a disability amongst them.
Eraklyonites[]
Eraklyonites are native to the planet of Eraklyon. They are an insectoid race that are very humanoid, with the exception of the compound eyes, antennae, lack of a nose, only having four fingers, and the chitin covering their entire bodies. Their eyes sit firmly within their heads, about where other animals’ eyes are, to protect their eyes from being stabbed out. This reduces their field of vision to only 200 degrees, but their entire field of view is of the same clarity as a human’s central vision, and their antennae help make up the difference. Their antennae give them a sense of smell that's about ten times stronger than a human's, and they use them to express emotions. Their hair serves to help protect their antennae by acting as cover when they lay them down flat, and just like with humans, it serves as ornamentation. They also don't have eyelids, meaning there isn't a millisecond where they can't see. This also means they can't truly sleep. Instead they enter a state called torpor, which is similar to sleep but not as deep, allowing them to easily wake up.
They’re a remarkably hardy race due to their chitin and can easily lift twice their own body weight on their homeworld (about ⅓ their body weight in Earth’s gravity). They also have some of the quickest reflexes in the galaxy to go along with their excellent vision. There’s a reason they make some of the greatest warriors in the galaxy. They are a herbivorous race and eat fruits and vegetables, but they’ll also eat the trees the fruits grow on. They’re the only Magic Dimension species with gut bacteria, and it’s to help them break down the wood pulp they like to consume. Females lay their eggs in special hatchery facilities.
The Eraklyon supercontinent is divided by a mountain range that's, even with modern technology, still nearly impossible to cross. The two halves of the continent have similar climates but wildly different flora and fauna. Eraklyonites evolved north of these mountains, but in their early history, a sizeable group of them somehow traveled across the mountains and either got trapped or simply never went back. This population eventually evolved into the southern Eraklyonites.
Southern Eraklyonites are biologically the same as northerners, with the only differences being comedic. Their features and chitin plates are sharper than their northern counterparts, and they have less prominent brow ridges. They also tend to be slimmer than the northerners, and the resting position of their antennae is lower and further out than the northerners. The most intresting differences between the two are in their eyes. Southerners have slimmer eyes than northerners, and instead of the hexagonal patterns seen in northerners' eyes, their eyes have striating patterns across them, resembling horsefly eyes.
Erosians[]
Erosians are native to the planet of Eros. They are a weasel-like race with feathers along their arms, backs, and ears. Their homeworld is very windy, and the feathers help direct the wind around them, allowing them to hear and keep themselves steady. They are one of the smallest sentient species in the Magic Dimension, only growing to 3 feet tall. They are lean and highly flexible, able to "fold in half" in any direction. They are an obligate carnivore race, mostly eating an assortment of small animals but can and have hunted much larger animals. They are some of the best hunters in the Magic Dimension. They can eat some vegetation, in the form of herbs and spices and the occasional fruit, and get some benefit from them. They are superb climbers, able to scamper up and down the trees of the dense forests they call home with their sharp claws.
Their culture is heavily tied into the winds. They build their cities within forests with massive and densely packed trees that break up the wind to protect their buildings, but they practically worship the winds. They teach their young how to dance with the winds. They teach their young to be as swift and unrelenting as the winds.
Esperoins[]
Esperoins are a medium-sized, herbivorous race hailing from the planet Espero of the Harmonic System. They are humanoid, average 5 feet, and have very pale, almost paper-white skin. The only hair they have is atop their heads and along their eyelids and, for the males, around their mouths. They lack eyebrows and the associated muscles that many other species have. The females have markings resembling two large red dots above their eyes and blush on their cheeks. The males have markings resembling yellow circles on their foreheads, which can either be a single large dot that can be solid or empty or one large dot accompanied by two smaller dots forming an upside-down triangle. The species has no natural predators. Their planet has the lowest gravity of any inhabited planet, meaning they may have decent strength on their homeworld, but on any other world, they are very weak.
The Esperoins have lived alongside their sister species, the Melodians, for centuries. They are the most peaceful species known to exist without a proper fight-or-flight instinct and will cower away from confrontation, even when running is a perfectly viable option. The Melodians are an aggressive warrior race in comparison. This has led to them being taken advantage of by pretty much everybody else. As a result, they rarely leave their planet and have structured their society around being as non-threatening as possible. The Melodians are solely responsible for defending both of their planets and dealing with any trouble that comes to Espero, which the Esperoins are charged heavily for.
Fallatese[]
The Fallatese are native to the planet of Fallat, one of the three inhabited planets in the Hynafol system. Fallatese are a herbivorous humanoid race with [ale blue skin and yellow markings on their skin They are completely hairless except for their eyelashes. Males of the species can often be seen with wearing a religious head garb that consists of a dark blue cap with thin flaps going down over their eyes. The warriors' caps will have a lighter metallic blue piece over the forehead.
Hoggarans[]
Hoggarans, nicknamed dwarves by humans, are native to the planet of Hoggar. They are a short and stout herbivorous race. They average 4 feet in height but range from 3.5 to 5 feet. They hail from one of the highest gravity inhabited worlds known to exist and so are incredibly strong, having the most natural lifting power of any race. They have a natural understanding of metal, a readily abundant material on their planet, making them the best smiths in the Magic Dimension. Their ancestors used their skill with metal to protect themselves from their predators. They are also highly resistant to toxins due to most of the plants they eat having some form of toxin within them. They are also notable for both genders being able to grow beards.
Korians[]
Korians are native to the planet of Koria. They are a humanoid race with three eyes. Their third eye is specially adapted for noticing detail, as their primary predator and food source are well camouflaged. They are very good at remembering these details in the short term but lose these fine details in their long term memory. They are a herbivorous race, average 6 feet tall, and have purple blood. They are a hermaphroditic race. All members of their race, with rare exceptions, can both sire and dam a child. For the most part, the race is entirely male presenting, but the dams will develop mammary glands to nurse the hatchlings.
They are a highly religious people and cultivated paladin magic. Those with paladin magic gain feathered wings. Some believe that the species, specifically the paladins, came to Earth long before first contact to teach their gospel, leading to stories of winged men and three-eyed men spreading across the world and parts of their gospel being incorporated into some of Earth's religions. Their religious doctrine puts high emphasis on keeping detailed records, evolving from how their species processes long term memories. To this effect, their paladins will write down everything that happened in a day in fine detail before going to bed.
Their planet orbits close to a red dwarf star (which can be anywhere from 7.5-50% the size of Earth's sun and 2,000-3,000 degrees C colder), resulting in them having one of the shortest years at 29 days and a 30 leap year every fifth year. This fact combined with them being the record keepers of the MDA is why their standard year is considered the Standard Galactic Year and is used for interplanetary records keeping.
Leprechauns[]
Leprechauns are natives of the eastern continent of Magix, being one of five sapient species that inhabit the planet. They are one of the smallest sentient species in the Magic Dimension, averaging 3 feet tall. They have pale yellow skin, green eyes, and large and long pointed ears. They are an omnivorous race and can easily live for 1000 years.
Leprechauns have a mischievous nature, and their instincts will guide them to cause trouble. They show their love through giving each other a good scare. This has caused them some diplomatic problems in the past, but their antics have earned them favor with the terrestrial fairies. A leprechaun diplomat once pulled a prank on Queen's Mother Titania and Queen Morgana that got them to laugh after several hours of long and boring diplomatic meetings. They had almost rejected the offer to join the MDA, feeling like terrestrial fairies would never fit with the species of the Magic Dimension, but that one prank convinced them that they might all be able to cooperate, resulting in the Sylvan Empire joining the Magic Dimension Alliance. The species maintain a good relationship, with leprechauns commonly traveling to Earth to hang out with the fairies.
Linpheans[]
Linpheans are both a cat-like race and a dryad-like facultative carnivore race hailing from the fifth moon of the gas giant Marigold, Linphea. The line between animal and plant is a lot blurrier on Linphea. Linpheans are definitely animals, as they breathe oxygen, but they can and need to perform photosynthesis to live. Their skin is bark-like, which resembles vertical stripes, but some are born with pattern mutations that can make their stripes horizontal and/or curly. Their hair and fur are vine- and grass-like. During their mating season, flowers bloom in their hair and release pheromones, and the stronger the smell, the better. Their species experiences puberty around the age of 20 (16 in Earth years), which is also considered adulthood for them.
They’re skilled hunters thanks to their cat-like features. They have cat-like noses, tails, fangs, sensitive ears, and claws and are cat-like in their movement. They have hair and fur that runs down the back of their neck and spine and covers their tail, but that’s it, as their skin is what performs the photosynthesis, and it needs to be exposed to sunlight to do its job. The species is completely covered in fur as kittens, making them look similar to Earth house cats, but they lose the extra fur by the time they're one year old and their photosynthesis cells develop. Despite coming from a Low-Gravity World, they’re very strong. They have to be strong to climb and leap through the trees they call home and hunt their prey. They also have pretty good low-light vision, as it can get pretty dark in some places under the canopy, and they can see slightly into the ultraviolet spectrum. They are live-birthers and give milk. They are a medium to tall race, typically ranging in height from 5.5 feet to 6.5 feet, with the females averaging a bit bigger than the males.
The species is known for having a powerful lifeforce and can power through many things that would be lethal to many other species. This translates into their magic, giving them large mana reserves. They used to be an extremely violent race, separated into prides that constantly fought each other over resources and territory, but once Arcadia brought fairy magic to their world, they grew in touch with nature and were able to end the fighting.
A Linphean year is considered as the time taken by their moon to make one revolution around Marigold. Marigold orbits an F-class star, and it takes ten of their years for their planet to make a full orbit.
Melodians[]
Melodians are a monkey-like race with bat-like ears hailing from the planet Melody in the Harmonic System. They are a short species, averaging 4 feet tall, but they can grow up to 5 feet in rare cases. They have long arms, short legs, and a tail that's almost as long as they are tall. They stand upright, have a flat face, and have no body hair, save for on top of their head, at the tip of their tail, and in sensitive regions. In their ancient past, they used to be covered in hair, with a minority of them having a genetic mutation that caused them to be born without body hair, but a few thousand years ago, they became plagued by a pandemic-level lice outbreak, causing a mass outbreak of disease. Those with less hair weren’t as severely affected, leading to them breeding more, and now, body hair is seen as unhygienic and undesirable. An unfortunate side effect of this now common genetic mutation is that it also causes them to go gray and start going bald early.
They mostly eat fruits, some vegetables, and will occasionally snack on some bugs. Their bat-like ears provide them with excellent hearing, which they need to detect their predator, the chameleon-wolf, an arboreal, canine-like creature with a prehensile tail and the ability to perfectly blend into its surroundings. The only way to detect it is to hear it breathe. They’re an egg-laying species, laying their eggs in burrows under the trees to keep them safe from the chameleon-wolf before they invented houses. Even though they lay eggs, they also give milk, like the platypus. They experience puberty at around 9 (~13 Earth years), which is also considered adulthood for them. Unfortunately, they are one of the shortest-living species, with only a life expectancy of 50 (72.5 Earth years).
Due to their low body fat ratio and top-heavy bodies, they cannot naturally swim. This makes them cautious around water, but they do not naturally fear it. The species has a highly developed syrinx vocal organ. This allows them to mimic almost any sound they hear, like the lyrebird. Back before translation spells had been developed, Melodians used this ability in combination with their acute hearing to serve as translators across the Magic Dimension.
Melodians are a peaceful race, but they are prone to lashing out when scared or in emotional distress. Many criminals have mistaken their peacefulness and kindness for weakness, only to be surprised by their surprising strength and small fangs that they keep concealed. They also use their tails as weapons when they fight, which are strong enough to support their entire body weight. They are solely responsible for defending and policing both their world and their sister world, Espero. They charge the Esperoins a lot for this, but fielding a proper defense network for two planets is not cheap.
Mermaids[]
Mermaids and their male counterparts, tritons, are the dominant species of Andros' oceans. They are a matriarchal society, so they are collectively known as mermaids. Their upper halves resemble humans, minus breasts and nipples, and their lower halves resemble fish tails. The females of the species have two wing-like fins on their backs that allow them to fly, and the males have a singular fin that runs down their backs and spots along certain parts of their bodies. They have hair on the top of their heads that ranges in color from greens and blues to yellows, pinks, and reds, and the males can grow facial hair. They are a predatory species and hunt in schools and are ovoviviparous. With the water protecting them from the harsh sun of their planet, their skin is a lot paler than land Androsians.
Unlike the land Androsians, the mermaids and tritons were never separated by the ocean, leading to them having one unified language, Aguatunge.
They were the ones to make first contact with many other planets thanks to their ocean gate experiments. They are considered to be the catalyst that ultimately created the Magic Dimension Alliance.
Neoxians[]
Neoxians, native to the planet Neoxis, are a nearly hairless herbivorous species. Their skin is metallic purple with a darker purple patch covering the back of their skulls and quite thick. The only hair on their entire bodies are their eyelashes. Their eyes change color to indicate their mood with the default color, displayed when they're calm, being white. They average around 5' 5" tall.
Neoxis is a harsh planet with a weak ozone layer, causing the sun's radiation to render the planet arid. All life above the oceans either needs to be nocturnal or have strong personal UV protection. The Neoxian's characteristic metallic skin is a side effect of its UV resistant proteins. The skin on the back of their heads is far thicker than the rest of their skin, resulting in its darker purple. They developed this trait during their evolutionary arms race against their main predator, a jaguar-like creature that kills by piercing the back of the skull.
Their eyes are covered by a filmy membrane to protect them from the sun and sand, but this membrane also causes poor visual acuity and night blindness, rendering them legally blind on most other planets. To compensate for this, their eyes are excellent with color and movement perception. They rely on these two senses so much that their written language, which is similar to braille, utilizes color as a direct part of it and standing completely still is considered rude in their culture. They can have trouble picking something out of the surrounding environment if it's completely still. This unfortunately results in them the victims of many a prank by Dalonans.
Ohmans[]
Ohmans are the dominant species of the planet Ohm. They are a species that resemble blue Earth monkeys and share much of their biology with the creatures. They average five feet tall and have prehensile hands, feet, and tails. Their preferred form of locomotion is to walk on their hands and feet, but they are capable of standing and walking upright, though they are slow while doing so, and walking upright for prolonged periods of time can become uncomfortable for them. They come from a high-gravity world, making them very strong.
Oppositins[]
Oppositins, the dominant species of Oppositus, are a dog-like race, particularly resembling the creatures in their face. Their skin tones are shades of blue. They have half-floppy ears, dog-like noses, and hair on top of their heads that ranges from brown to greens and blues. They average six feet tall, but they come from a low-gravity world, so they are rather weak.
Orezites[]
Orezites are native to the planet Orez. Orezites are an herbivores humanoid race with head-tails. Males only have one, and females have two. Males are also significantly taller than the females.
Romuleans[]
Romuleans are native to the planet of Romulea. They are a herbivorous humanoid race with some cat-like features. They are one of the fastest runners, able to sprint at 14 mph for a couple minutes. They have a thin layer of fur covering their bodies and hair covering their heads. They also have red dots along parts of their bodies, a holdover from when they split from the closest evolutionary relatives, the Romulean plains runner.
Rottians[]
The Rottians are native to the planet of Rot, one of the three inhabited planets in the Hynafol system. Rottians are a nocturnal hematophagous carnivorous race. They have grey skin, sharp teeth, and batlike ears. Their eyes work best in the dark, and they can use echolocation to navigate. Their skin and eyes are highly light sensitive, and they can get sunburned, so they wear long hoods and eye protection when out during the day. They lack the natural ability to maintain proper iron levels themselves, so they need to dink blood to keep their levels up. It is also how they hunt.
Rottian society is split up into several clans, and for most of their history, these clans were in near constant conflict. As technology advanced, the treat of all out war became apocalyptic, much like Earth's Cold War, but all the clans were of relatively equal power. Without states they could fight proxy wars through, their warfare became focused around espionage and sabotage, and to this day, WMDs and spy work are what the species is best known for. What they're second best known for is the creation of glamour spells.
After first contact, the Rottians became aware that their appearance was disturbing to most other races, and after tha alliance was formalized and Rottians began visiting other worlds, their people began to be attacked and discriminated against because of their looks. It wasn't all the time, but it was often enough that the government had something to say about it. They took their expertise in disguise magic to create charms that made them look less scary and made them inexpensive enough that anyone leaving their world could get one. Would it be better if they didn't have to disguise themselves? Yes, but it's unrealistic, and Rottians know all too well how much people can suck.
Glamour charms soon proved to be a popular item amongst other races, and now Rot makes a lot of money through the sell of glamour charms.
Solarians[]

Solarian hoof print
Solarians are native to the planet of Solaria. They are a satyr-like race but with plantigrade feet. Their hooves are separated into four sections: inner heel hoof, outer heel hoof, inner claw, and outer claw, kind of like a cow’s hoof. Their legs are covered in thick, dark fur up to their hips to protect them from the tall grass and foliage of the grasslands and forests they call home as they run. They are the fastest runners of all known sapient species and have the highest endurance in the Magic Dimension, with the average Solarian able to run over 15 mph to escape from their predators and their top athletes able to run over 50 mph. They also evolved their upright posture to make spotting predators easier, and if they can’t run, they can use their powerful legs to kick at their attackers.
The species has a rare subspecies called Selenians. Their population had always been smaller than Solarians, but after the destruction of the Selenian nation, they have become endangered. Selenians are nocturnal and thus have superior night vision and are less pigmented than their diurnal counterparts.
They are one of the most herbivorous races in the Magic Dimension, but mostly because of cultural restrictions. They can eat meat, in moderation, and even receive some benefits from the practice. Solarians also have side-facing eyes that can filter out the intense sunlight of their sun, which is an A-class star. Their faces, chests, arms, and lower backs are all furless to allow for cooling. The blood vessels in those areas can dilate to disperse heat, giving their skin an orange hue thanks to their orange blood. They keep some fur on the back of their necks, shoulders, ears, and upper backs and extra long fur on the top of their heads to protect themselves from the sun. They also have cute, little sheep ears and deer tails. They are live-birthers and give milk. They experience puberty at 2 (16 Earth years), which is also considered adulthood for them. Their natural speed translates to their magic, making Solarians some of the fastest fliers around.
There has always been tension between prey and predatory species in the magic dimension, with those that participate in the prejudice and intolerance calling prey inferior lifeforms that are too stupid to be a part of civilized society and calling predators disgusting and naturally evil creatures that need to be eradicated. Solaria unfortunately suffers from having the highest rates of these bigots, with there even being rumors of an anti-predator cult. They eradicated their primary predator, which was also the primary predator of a giant sloth-like creature called the cohabuc, and now, there’s a massive overpopulation of them, and they have to advertise cohabuc hunting to the predatory races to deal with the issue, which the bigots are not happy with.
Thordals[]
The Thordal people are natives to the planet of the same name. They are an omnivorous race with light purple skin, tusks, long pointed ears, and digitigrade legs. They are fairly tall, averaging above six and a half feet. Aside from the hair atop their heads and on their chins for men, they are completely hairless. Their hair typically comes in blondes and reds, but far less common blues will sometimes pop up. They are among the longer-lived species, with many of them living for 2,000 Standard Galactic Years (160 Earth years).
Thordal society is highly structured, hierarchical, and puritanical and puts person and family image above most else. They practice a strict caste system that dictates everything in a person's life, including where they can live, where they go to school, what level of education they can get, what clothes they can wear, and what jobs they can get. The system is so strict that it is a criminal offense for someone of a lower caste to touch someone of a higher caste. This same law requires people of the lower castes to obey any order given to them by a member of a higher caste, even if they're just strangers walking on the same road. The only way to move up in the system is to be born with magic, which is a once-in-a-generation occurrence, but only if it's the right kind of magic.
Thordal cities are built behind massive walls with only the farms beyond them. All but the farmers are completely cut off from nature, and it shows in their culture. The average Thordal has no respect for nature as they are taught to believe themselves superior to "beasts". They practice slash-and-burn agriculture and predator hunts with bounties. Children that develop "bestial magic" are shunned and often banished from the cities and disowned by their family. The upper classes care little for the waste they create or where it goes so long as it's out of their sight. Despite warnings from more advanced worlds, Thordal's rulers refuse to institute policies that will prevent them from facing the same ecological disasters the more advanced species are experiencing.
Thordal's cultural rigidity has resulted in their technology becoming stagnant, leaving them in a medieval development stage. They haven't even fully colonized their homeworld. Their rulers are dismissive of the other races and even look down on them, viewing them as inferior, particularly the more "beastial" species. This has resulted in nobody wanting to interact with them. Despite this, missionaries will still occasionally arrive on-world to try to convince the rulers of the errors of their ways. This has so far not been successful. But these missionaries will also go and find those who have been rejected and offer them a chance at a better life, oftentimes bringing them back with them. The hope in doing this is to either introduce better practices to the planet through members of their own species or preserve the Thordal people through these rejected.
Thordal is also the homeworld of ogres and trolls, but despite them being sentient, even if they aren't particularly intelligent, they are not recognized as such by the Thordal government, which uses them as slave labor. Without a government of their own, the ogres and trolls have no one to speak for them, resulting in the rest of the dimension also not legally recognizing them as full sentients.
Undine[]
The undine are small magical creatures native to the Black Mud Swamp region of Magix, being one of five sapient species that inhabit the planet. They are a miniature mermaidoid species, being only a few inches tall, with transparent flaps of skin under their arms that allow them to fly, but they have no real wings. They are the smallest known sapient species. They range in color from purples and blues to pale greens, though a rare few of them are golden in color, and have yellow markings around their eyes. Their hands, aside from their thumbs, are fused together into a flipper shape. Although they live in the water, they breathe air. Due to their small size, they are frequent targets for predation. They are a herbivorous race that mostly eats algae and other small plants.
Though they have little contact with outsiders, they are a friendly people but are very cautious, but once they realize you won't eat them, they're happy to have visitors. That being said, they have limited diplomatic presence and don't seek out other the races. They construct their homes out of a waterproof plant fiber called xilith, which they form into interconnected air bubbles. They don't wear clothes, with the exception of the queen, who wears a small pale green floral crown and wields a scepter.
Whisperians[]
Whisperians are native to the planet of Whisperia. They are a omnivorous humanoid race with dark blue to purple skin and bioluminescent spots and stripes across their body. Their homeworld is almost entirely covered in dense forests with bioluminescent foliage. Their unique skin evolved to camouflage them into their environment so they could both hide from their predators and ambush their prey.
Whisperians were the creators of the Whisperian Crystals. Their homeworld is rife with wild magic that can coalesce into pockets. The area within these pockets can be treacherous with the terrain unexpectedly shifting, energy eruptions, and aggressive animals. The Whisperian Crystals were created to absorb these pockets of wild magic to make them safe again. Despite them being kept under lock and key due to the danger they could pose, Darcy was able to get her hands on three of them.
Zenithians[]
Zenithians are native to the planet of Zenith. They are a species that resemble Earth's penguins. Zenith is an extremely cold water world. It’s pretty much impossible to grow crops on the planet’s surface without greenhouses, so for much of their history, Zenithians had to dive down into their planet’s oceans to find food, but unlike penguins, they are herbivorous and eat aquatic plants. Their bodies are covered in swimming feathers that can range from a light gray to a dark, purplish gray, and they have hair-like crest feathers that range in color from greens and purples to pinks, oranges, and reds. They have side-facing eyes, like penguins. They have itty-bitty penguin tails and powerful legs that end in penguin-like feet. They have short, hardy beaks for chomping through the vegetation they eat. Their arms are paddle-like, breaking off into four fingers with short claws. Their ancestors used to have massive, dagger-like claws to fend off predators, but as they evolved to be smarter, their claws became shorter and fingers more dexterous. They also use their claws to traverse the ice and, up until relatively recently, climb up the cliffs they made their nests in. They are an egg-laying species. They experience puberty around 9 years old (18 in Earth years), which is also adulthood for them. They have lost some of their swimming ability since they’ve developed hydroponic greenhouses, but they’re still skilled swimmers and divers. Their blood is hemocyanin-based and a blue-teal color.
Due to the harsh conditions of their planet, Zenithian society has developed a rigid culture. They view logic as the key to their survival and emotions as a hindrance. When Arcadia came to their world and gave them fairy magic, the problems of this mindset came rushing to the surface. A war began raging inside every witch and fairy born into their species, their powers telling them to feel, but their communities telling them to repress. The oh-so "logical" normies of their world began to fear them, a fear stoked by the ruling elite. They became outcasts and the victims of witch/fairy hunts. The magic gene is recessive within Zenithians, resulting in magic children being hatched into normie families. They rarely made it to adulthood.
When the mermaids and tritons came to Zenith using their ocean gates, they evacuated many magical Zenithians to Andros, and the land Androsians gave them new homes on the polar islands. These individuals are now known as the QecKhoowk and are the speakers of QecKhiat.
Over time, things got better on Zenith, but children are still told not to use their magic in public.
As a part of their cultural efforts to remove all emotion from their lives, Zenithian breeding pairs are assigned by an algorithm that compares their citizens' carrier goals and genetic compatibility. Once two people are paired, they are expected to mate up and produce offspring. The only reason it's not law is because the elite refuse to admit that it "needs" to be a law or even publicly recognize the existence of those that would not follow the algorithm. Those that refuse to follow the algorithm call themselves self-determinists. Someone may identify as a self-determinist for any number of reasons, but it all boils down to the fact they don't want to be with their assigned mate or produce offspring. They are the Zenithian equivalent of the LGBTQ+ community. They are often ostracized for their emotions and for not "doing their part" in continuing the species. The government will quietly harass them and make their lives more difficult in order to scare them into conforming. This has only gotten worse over time.
