Nebula Fay is a character in the Winx Club HFY fanfic. She is one of the many fairies that were captured by the Wizards of the Black Circle. She is the daughter of Morrigan and Eirene and the first ever known Terrestrial and Dream Fairy hybrid.

Biography[]
Early Life[]
Nebula Erina Fay was born to the Fay clan and to the royal family of Aislingne Verden, giving her claim to both thrones. Being the daughter of a phantom queen, she was given the same education a regular princess in case Morgana were to die without producing an heir.
When she was very young, she couldn't tell her mother and aunt apart, causing her a great deal of distress, but as she got older, she became very close to Morgana, seeing her as a third mother. Often times, she felt like Morgana was the only one that understood her and what it felt like to be part alien.
Being an alien hybrid, she never felt like she belongs on Earth or on Aislingne Verden. Like most Terrestrial Fairies, she's a trickster by nature, which most Dream Fairies aren't fans of, and as a Dream Fairy, Nebula had practices and behaviors that the other sprites found weird, and although Sylvans are a spiritual people, they practice their spiritualism through action instead of long hours of meditation. As she got older, she hid her ears with her hair and became super active, buff, and aggressive in attempt to fit in.
When she was sixteen, a melanistic griffin was brought to the island for breeding. When she heard about it, she decided she had to see it. When nobody else was around, she snuck down to its pen. She was enraptured by the beauty of the creature and got a bit too close. The creature attacked and tried to rip Nebula apart. She wrestled with the creature until she was able to subdue it. In doing so, she managed to calm it and successfully bonded with it. When her family learned what happened, they were not happy, but she bonded with it, so she was allowed to keep it. She named the griffin Oíchfiachir (night hunter).
When she was eighteen, she entered into the Armtha Forneartne Sylvan, and when her mandatory military service was over, she decided to extend her service into a career. Due to the empire being in an isolationist period, her military career was very peaceful, but that all changed when the wizards attacked.
The Darkest Day[]
The day started out as it had gone for the last few years. Morgana had left a few years prior on a scouting mission, so Morrigan was acting as queen. Nebula didn't expect to see her anytime soon. But then, the sky turned back, and four men she didn't recognize suddenly appeared with Morgana, beaten and her wings torn off.
Every adult charged the men, but they quickly began slaughtering and tearing off wings left and right. Nebula was mere feet away when Morrigan was struck down. Eirene began an evacuation of the children and some of the dams, and Nebula gathered up the children. Ogron came after them, and Eirene held him off while Nebula evacuated the island, taking an infant for a dam that had three.
Nebula brought the survivors to the nearest Arctic Fleets ship, which happened to have her aunts, Hildr and Gunhild, and her cousin, Aurora, on board, but that proved to only be a short reprieve as the wizards followed them and continued their rampage. She could do nothing but watch as they mutilated and killed Hildr and Aurora cried for her mother.
Gunhild sent all the fairies away with the infants and children while she and the other witches fought the wizards. Nebula and Aurora led them away, but the wizards got past the witches. Nebula was jumped from behind, and her wings were torn off, causing her to drop the infant. She was helpless as she watched the baby falling towards the cold waters below and was pulled into a portal in the sky.
Appearance[]
Being a Terrestrial and Dream Fairy hybrid, Nebula has her dam's pointed ears, which she typically covers with her hair, and she is omnivorous and can produce sweat, like her sire. Her wings are large, like Morrigan's, and lined blue, like Eirene's. She has shoulder-length deep blue wavy hair, dark violet eyes, and a fair skin tone.
By Sylvan standards, she's on the shorter side, just over six feet.
She wears a maroon lined purple dress. On her top right side, there is a part of short sleeved maroon top seen. On her upper left arm, she wears a maroon arm cuff. She has elbow warmers with a transparent fabric on the top. Like the majority of Sylvans, she doesn't wear shoes but rather wears soleless sandals that wrap up and around her lower leg to better connect with the Earth and to walk quietly. When she's in the Arctic Fleets, she wears wrap boots (a style of Sylvan boots similar to ugg boots but secured with laces).

Personality[]
Nebula is a person that feels deeply. This means she can be sweet, kind, compassionate, and caring; has a tendency to cry when situations get overwhelming; and can be hurt deeply by loss. She's also a bit of a goofball and loves her pranks. She is considered to be a young adult by Terrestrial Fairy standards, roughly equivalent to a 25 to 29-year-old human, so she's still inexperienced.
Magical Abilities[]
As a Terrestrial and Dream Fairy hybrid, Nebula has impressive physical and psionic abilities. She is incredibly strong and fast and can influence other's emotions. She has incredibly powerful lightning attacks and can shape her lightning to achieve various affects. She has not come into her special Onyrix power yet despite Dream Fairies typically coming into it during adolescence, which her mothers suspected was due to her hybrid nature.

Etymology[]
- A nebula is an interstellar cloud of various gases and dust. It also used to be used as general term for any unidentified object in space. The word nebula itself means cloud in Latin, which could be a reference to the Greek Goddess of Revenge, Nemesis, who was duty-bound to give humans divine punishment of the gods.
- 'Erina' is a name of Gaelic origins that means "peace" and "beautiful" and is another name for Ireland, where the original settlers of Tír Nan Óg came from.

- Since Nebula and Roxy are the daughters of identical twins, they share, on average, 25% to 50% of their DNA and are, genetically speaking, half-sisters.
