Biography[]
Early Life[]
Roxanne “Roxy” Titania Wolf-Fay, named after her grandmother, was born in Gardenia, California. From her father's side, she is 1/4 German, 1/8 Inuit, and 1/8 Wiyot Indian, and from her mother's side, she is part Sylvan and part unknown Asian race. When she was a baby, she and her family were attacked while on a hiking trip. Her father was nearly killed, suffering a traumatic brain injury, and her mother was abducted. Roxy's grandmother, Roxanne, came to stay with them for a while as Klaus recovered and adjusted to being a single father. She eventually had to return to her own life in Louisiana, but she would come over to help whenever she could until she was too old to travel.
Roxy was diagnosed with celiac disease when she was one year old and autism when she was five years old. She was enrolled in Luna Winfree Private School, a school known for its special needs program, when she was six. On her first day of school, she was sent to the principal's office for having "dyed hair". That's where she met another girl that was sent to for the same reason as her, Jenny Carter. As the girls' parents sorted out the mess, the girls bonded over their similar hair. This chance meeting led to a lifelong partnership between the girls and their parents.
Knowing that 99% of baked goods would send her to the hospital, Roxanne and Klaus began teaching her how to bake when she was four years old, which she quickly found out she had a talent and love for.
Willow Carter was the main female figure in her life and did her best to teach her how to be a girl, despite not knowing how to be an American girly-girl herself.
When she was ten, her father took her hunting for the first time. The sound of the guns was highly distressing for her, so her father took them to learn bow and crossbow hunting, which she enjoyed much more and showed a great talent for, spurring her life-long love of archery.
In the following years, she joined the drama and archery clubs. She also found out she has face blindness (the inability to recognize faces), which often accompanies autism. She compensates by focusing on specific features and a person's hair or aura and by using her heightened sense of smell.
Growing up, she was taught to be careful of who she told about her grandfather's past and family. It was one of many secrets she was taught to keep. She had a friend, Maeve, she thought she could trust and maybe even had some romantic feelings for. She confided in Maeve about her family's unfortunate history. She expected Maeve to understand that she wasn't her great-grandfather, but she didn't. Maeve rejected Roxy and called her a monster. Luckily, Maeve's family moved away before she could tell anyone else, but this event left Roxy with trust issues.
As a gifted kid, Roxy's teachers told her that she could do many great things and had a lot of expectations for her, which caused her a lot of stress. Her father noticed this and sat her down for a conversation. He told her that she could do all those things and more but so could so many other people. She's not obligated to cure cancer because she's not the smart kid, she's a smart kid. There are plenty of other people just as and even more intelligent than her. What she is the only one of is her, and she doesn't have to be anything more than that. That talk really helped with the pressure and stress, and she learned to take care of herself first.
Developing Her Powers[]
Roxy first started developing her powers a little after her fifteenth birthday. It started with a gradual increase in her physical abilities and senses, which she didn't immediately notice, but then she began emitting small bursts of magic. These were barely noticeable and couldn't immediately be traced to her, especially with her being cloaked by the nexus, but they were enough to alert the Wizards of the Black Circle to her existence. Fortunately for her, Bloom's magic was far more prominent, leading the wizards down the wrong path, but that began to change as Roxy's powers grew stronger.
Roxy began steadily loosing weight without trying or any change to her diet or lifestyle, which prompted her father to take her to the doctor. The doctors ran many tests on her but weren't able to figure out what was causing the weight loss. Roxy began eating a lot more but could never keep herself full.
Appearance[]
Roxy is a young girl with a tanned skin tone. She has waist-length wavy dark pink hair, resulting from a mutated RHC allele that's dominate over blond but recessive to brown, with blonde tips and slightly narrow, violet eyes. She is quite hairy and very tall, like her father. Due to the caloric strain her developing powers has put on her body and her naturally high metabolism, she is very skinny, despite her attempts to put on weight.
Uniform[]
Her Frutti Music Bar uniform consists of a white polo shirt, dark purple tie, a purple skirt with pink trim that her dad sewed pockets into for her, and the standard red server apron.
Personality[]
Roxy is rebellious, a little shy, and willful. She cares a great deal for animals, loving them and keeping them as pets to the point of making her own secret shelter for them in the back of her father's bar. She's very much a daddy's girl and wanted to be just like him, going so far as to say she wanted to be a Marine, but as she got older, she realized that she would likely get kicked out for punching her drill sergeant, not something she considers to be a good trait. She's also a bit of a potty mouth, and like her drill sergeant father, if you ever hear her not swearing, that means things just got serious. Like her grandmother before her, she's highly food motivated. She can be bribed with a gluten-free cookie.
She has a tendency to cry when she gets scared or confused, but if she feels threatened or is cornered, she can become animalistically violent. She is also very stubborn and has a high self worth, sticking up for herself when others put her down and when she feels that there is something wrong. She also stated that she has "a bit of a temper", common in people with autism.
She is an excellent actress and uses these skills to mess with people and get what she wants. Like the raven, she is a trickster by nature. She can be straight up vindictive towards people she doesn't like, but towards the people and animals she cares for, she is sacrificial and, like the wolf, will do anything and fight tooth and nail to protect them. It's difficult for her to trust humans, which is part of the reason she loves dogs so much. Dogs won't abandon you, they will never judge you, and so long as you treat them right, they won't betray you.
Artu[]

Artu's job as her service dog is to check foods for gluten, ground her if she has a breakdown or a shutdown, and keep her calm in stressful situations, such as parties. He was originally adopted to be a hunting dog before Roxy's conditions presented themselves. He is a bloodhound and was affected by the unknown enhancing environmental agent surrounding the Wiyot tribal lands, resulting in him growing to an abnormal size, showing incredible intelligence, and living beyond his breed's life expectancy.
Powers and Abilities[]
Being a young woman raised by two veterans, she was extensively trained in hand-to-hand combat and wielding weapons, including knives and pistoles. She also has enhanced strength, speed, healing, and durability, making her a highly effective close-combat fighter. Her animal powers are also more suited to close-combat. The mutagenic properties of Terrestrial Magic have given her enhanced senses, particularly smell and night vision, and retractable claws and fangs, but her body is still actively mutating. There's no telling what kind of mutations she'll develop.
She has the ability to understand animals. The smarter the animal is, the easier it is to under stand them.
Fairy Queen's Curse[]
Like all fairy queens but unbeknownst to her, Roxy is afflicted by the fairy queen's curse.
Etymology[]
- 'Roxy' is a diminutive of the name 'Roxanne', which is itself derived from 'Roxana', the Greek pronunciation of the Old Persian name 'Roshanak', which means "little star", "dawn", "bright as the dawn", or "The Bright One".
- 'Titania' is a girl's name of Greek origin that has multiple meanings, including "giant", "great one", "of the Titans", and "the daughters of Titans".
- 'Wolf' is a characteristic surname describing someone that is like a wolf, such as being extremely loyal, or is a strong fighter. Wolves represent family, loyalty, courage, independence, spiritual depth, and the wild nature of both humans and the world along with danger, violence, cruelty, and untamed forces.
- 'Fay' is an Irish surname that means "raven". It is also one of the many words for "fairy". The Sylvan version of the name has also come to mean "hunt" due to the history of ravens accompanying hunters to locate prey in exchange for some of the meat.
- Wolf-Fay is also a reference to Wolf Talon.
Trivia[]
- I gave Roxy celiac disease purely so she can bring Artu along with her to Alfea.
