Team A, simply called The Specialists majority of the time, is a group of six Fonterossa students. Originally a team of four, they were grouped together in their first year of training and chose to maintain their squad for the rest of their school life. The fifth and sixth members, Helia and Nex, respectively, joined over this period. As main members of The Winx Club, The Specialists serve as the secondary protagonists of TWCC, romancing The Winx, assisting in various adventures and overcoming personal difficulties of their own.
History[]
Initially, The Specialists were a group of four boys training at Fonterossa: Skai, Brandohn, Timi and Riven. Their team was chosen by their teacher/commanding officer Codatorta and served as their default squad for training exercises/missions. In their first years, they faced a number of interpersonal struggles, largely because of Riven's distrust and pigheadedness. Ironically, instead of tearing apart their otherwise temporary team, it inadvertently helped them grow closer and solidify a lasting bond.
Helia joins their team in third year (Book 2). While Skai and Brandohn are pleasant and Timmi takes a strong liking to him, Riven is initially unsure about the Headmaster's pacifist grandson. Even so, Helia merged soundly into the group within a couple months.
Nex debuts after Riven leaves Magix. While the others get along with him, Helia is cold, as he feels Nex is being used as a replacement for Riven. It doesn't help that Nex expresses a willingness to transfer and join their group. Eventually, the team has an in-depth discussion and it is decided that Nex can join, which he does. When Riven returns, he is also welcomed back into the group.
The Specialists becomes a ride or die squad of best friends. They love each other dearly, though they all express it in different ways. They trust each other with their lives (literally, on a regular basis). After completing their training at Fonterossa, they head down different paths, but they maintain supportive friendships.

- Despite seeming like a revolving-door team that changes yearly, there are only six official members.
- Nabu, Len and Rao work alongside them at various points and are close friends, but they are not officially members as they are not students at Fonterossa.
- Helia and Nex are the only high-level magic users in the official group.
- Riven has left the team twice. The first time was when he defected to be with Darcy and the second was when he left on his own accord to do some soul-searching. This makes him the only member to have left and returned.
- Each member of The Specialists has a different core colour, which contributes to both the interpersonal conflicts and the diversity of the group.
- Skai has a dodger blue core colour.
- Brandohn has a green core colour.
- Timi has a gold core colour.
- Riven has a deep pink core colour.
- Helia has a dark orange colour.
- Nex has an indigo colour.
- If Nabu had become a Specialist at Fonterossa, their team would have all the colours of the rainbow spectrum since his core colour is purple.
